Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

This is the process that prepares adults and older children to be received into the Catholic Church. Individuals who are interested in becoming a Catholic are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life through weekly RCIA sessions. These sessions, overseen by our Pastor or other member of the clergy, are periods of instruction, reflection, prayer, discernment, and formation.

RCIA is for those who have never been baptized as well as those who are baptized from another Christian tradition. It is for those who were baptized Catholic as infants but have had no formal formation in their faith. It is also for those who want to renew their understanding of the Catholic faith and traditions.

The RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults – program is for those people who are seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church through all of the Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. [RCIA sessions are open to anyone who desires to join the Catholic Church (become a Catholic) and for those who want to deepen their understanding of the catholic faith. The sessions meet every Monday from 7pm-8pm in the Rectory. Call the Rectory, (504) 525-1551.]
